Zalat Pizza, which has locations around the metroplex, is moving into the building on Peavy Road. 20 Feet Seafood Joint, which opened in 2013, closed in March, after owner Marc Cassel was unable to renegotiate the lease.

Unlike the past tenant, fish and chips, lobster rolls and clam chowder won’t be coming out of the kitchen. Instead, neighbors will be able to order pizzas including buffalo chicken, pepperoni, chicken teriyaki, cheese and Nashville hot chicken and pickles.

The restaurant is located just across Peavy from Greenville Avenue Pizza Co. But unlike its established neighbor, Zalat will not offer dine-in service.

There must be something in the East Dallas water. Just a couple months ago, Thunderbird Pies opened on Gaston Avenue near the 3G intersection, just down the road from the Casa Linda area. It’s located steps from Cane Rosso, and the two spots — though specializing in different styles of pizza — have the same owner.

Zalat will be located at 1160 Peavy Road next to Goodfriend Beer Garden & Burger House. The nearest Zalat location is on Fitzhugh.
