A new artisan ice cream shop is opening soon near White Rock Lake.

The Advocate reported in January that Cow Tipping Creamery would open near Detroit-style Thunderbird Pies. Both brands are owned by the same company that operates Cane Rosso, located in the same shopping center.

Cow Tipping Creamery has locations in Fort Worth and Frisco. It offers soft serve ice cream, shakes and stackers, which has soft serve and specialty toppings and sauces.

The ice cream shop will share a space with Thunderbird Pies.

Detroit-style pizzas have a stronger butter flavor due to the oil that lines baking pans and the use of Wisconsin brick cheese, according to Thunderbird Pies pizza chef Lee Huntzinger.

Cow Tipping Creamery will open at 7328 Gaston Ave.
