En Vivo will take place on 7 p.m. June 13 at the Latino Cultural Center, located at 2600 Live Oak St.
The inaugural event will feature two performances from Texas-based singers RAFA and Vanita Leo.
Rafa, otherwise known as Rafael Garcia, is a singer-songwriter based in Dallas and born in Brownsville. Rafa describes himself as an “emo Latino,” and takes inspiration from 2000s American emo music along with ’90s Mexican punk bands, according to his Spotify bio.
Vanita Leo is a Mexican-American artist from San Antonio. Her music is known for her modern take on a combination of cumbia, pop and Tejano styles.
“Created as a platform for musicians, performers and creative voices, En Vivo brings audiences closer to the energy of live performance through intimate, engaging experiences that spotlight the richness and diversity of Latino artistry,” the Latino Cultural Center said in a statement.
