The exhibition introduces Krismer’s first collection, featuring abstract paintings that emphasize bold colors, geometric form and expressive mark-making, according to a press release from Art on Main.

Born in Houston, Krismer spent her childhood years traveling in the Middle East. According to the press release, those experiences along with her athletic background and personal growth have shaped the energy and perspective in her artwork.

The opening reception will take place 5:30-8:30 p.m.  Saturday, June 13, and guests can meet the artist, explore her collection of work and celebrate her debut. Light refreshments will be provided, and DJ MISO will curate the music for the night.

“As a first collection, these works represent both a beginning and a discovery,” said Andrea Lamarsaude, Art on Main founder, in the press release. “There is an honesty and confidence in Kathy’s work that draws viewers in. The paintings are bold and contemporary, yet they leave space for personal reflection and connection.”

Art on Main is located at 4428 Main St., Suite 200. The gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, or by appointment.
