The new restaurant, which opened at 4223 Bryan St. will operate on evenings seven days a week and a pianist playing every night starting at 5 p.m.

Scott Fickling and his business partner, Phil Patterson, opened St. Martin’s in 1980 next to the San Francisco Rose. After the restaurant’s lease was up at 3020 Greenville Ave., the business decided to plan for a new location in East Dallas.

“We loved our former space, so we didn’t want to change it too much. It’s slightly more intimate, but we wanted to keep the nostalgia and the feel of what made us who we are,” the restaurant said. “We’ve made our popular bar slightly larger and we sadly won’t have a banquet room as we did previously.”

The restaurant told the Advocate it was “the right intersection of circumstances.” With over 45 years of food and wine service in their last space the bistro was ready for a new beginning but with the same old tune.
