Since 1980, the wine bistro has operated at 3020 Greenville Ave. However, on May 8, the French restaurant announced it would cease operation of its Greenville Avenue storefront. Now, the establishment is soon to be up and running at 4223 Bryan St, which previously housed two old antique shops.

The establishment “broke ground” in July 2023, however, they are still fine tuning the restaurant.

“In our restaurant group’s true fashion, we won’t settle for less than perfection, and we know our loyal guests won’t cut us any slack. So we’re taking our time and doing it right,” the restaurant said.

Although the neighborhood remains eager for the restaurant’s return, one may wonder, why did the restaurant move?

The restaurant told the Advocate it was “the right intersection of circumstances.” With over 45 years of food and wine service in their last space, the lease was up, and the bistro was ready for a new beginning but with the same old tune.

“We loved our former space, so we didn’t want to change it too much. It’s slightly more intimate, but we wanted to keep the nostalgia and the feel of what made us who we are,” the restaurant said. “We’ve made our popular bar slightly larger and we sadly won’t have a banquet room as we did previously.”

Additional renovations include a slight tweak to the menu, and the restaurant is keeping it a surprise.

But fear not; restaurant favorites like Champagne Brie Soup, the Tournedos Rossini and the foie gras are returning to St. Martin’s.

Final inspections and staff training are underway, with plans to reopen in mid- March. An official date has not been confirmed.
