The V Spot on North Henderson has closed. The landlord claims owner Delia Pisarro owes more than $56,000 in back rent. Pisarro has said she plans to open another V Spot in the Montrose district of Houston.

The Mecca is open in Lakewood.

Restaurateur Nick Badovinus closed Neighborhood Services on North Henderson and replaced it with another concept, Tried and True. The menu includes burgers, sandwiches, tacos and bar snacks, along with nine Texas beers on tap and some 60 whiskeys.

Snack on Henderson has a new menu and is under new management.

Sakhuu Thai Cuisine, from the owners of Thairiffic on Cedar Springs, has opened on Bryan.

Whiterock Abbey is set to open in November on Peavy.

The owners of La Popular Tamale House announced plans for a new concept called Peak & Elm. It will be at the corner of, yes, Peak and Elm.
