Woodrow graduate Evan Faram, killed in a scooter accident in Hollywood on Saturday, as he appeared Tuesday in a FaceTime screenshot posted on his mother’s Facebook page.
UPDATE: Services for Evan Faram will be held Thursday, April 25, at 1 p.m. at Highland Park United Methodist Church, 3300 Mockingbird Lane.
Evan Faram, a 2006 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, was killed Saturday morning in a hit-and-run truck versus scooter accident in Hollywood at Sunset Boulevard and Vine Street.
According to a CBS-TV (Channel 2) story on the accident, Faram was riding a Lime scooter at 2:50 a.m. when he was struck by a man driving a Ford F-150 pickup. The pickup driver attempted to flee the scene, but a Hollywood police officer saw the accident, chased the driver and eventually arrested him.

Faram, 31, was a fixture in the Woodrow theater scene and graduated from Southwestern University in Georgetown in 2010 with a theater major. Over the years, Faram worked at the Walnut Street Theater in Philadelphia and joined his brother, Hayden, in founding TheCoolestStuffInTexas.com, a website featuring the Texas travels of the two brothers and longtime Lakewood friend Ben Thevenet.
The Advocate wrote a story about the website and the founders’ purchase of a former DART bus for $7,000 on Craigslist in 2014 to travel the state highlighting their favorite things about Texas.
In 2008, the Advocate also interviewed Dee Faram, Evan’s father and a former assistant pastor at White Rock Methodist Church, about a medical sales business Faram started. Faram holds a number of patents on medical equipment.
Services are pending for Faram, whose father and mother, Marsha, still live in Lakewood.
