Dallas police arrested a man who is accused of assaulting two women and kicking their dog at the White Rock Lake Dog Park last week, multiple news outlets reported.
Dale Coonrod, 42, was arrested Friday and charged with two misdemeanor assault charges stemming from an altercation at the park Dec. 9, police said.
Chanise Condren posted a video of the incident on Twitter after she said Coonrod attacked her and her dog.
I was just assaulted by this man at White Rock Lake Dog Park in Dallas, TX. He hit me twice, grabbed my neck, and called me a “fucking bitch” repeatedly. His name is Dale Coonrod. His wife’s name is Mickey Rayford-Coonrod and she’s the Assistant Attorney for the city of Dallas. pic.twitter.com/u0IJ4Xx4Iu

At a news conference Friday, Condren said that she and her wife, Ashley Garner, brought their dog, Calvin, to the White Rock Lake Dog Park, according to the Dallas Morning News. Calvin start to play rough with Coonrod’s two dogs and growled at them. That’s when Coonrod kicked Calvin, causing him to whimper, Condren said.
Condren asked Coonrod why he kicked her dog. He then cursed at her and called her names, Condren said. Garner tried to intervene, but she said Coonrod pushed her back.
In the video, which has 2.4 million views as of Monday morning, Coonrod appears to hit the phone with his fist, causing it to fall to the ground. Coonrod fled when the women threatened to call the police. They identified him through his car’s license plate number, the Morning News reported.
“I appreciate everyone who has sent us support and encouragement,” Condren said on Twitter. “The physical injuries that Dale Coonrod caused paired with the emotional stress and trauma that we’re dealing with is a lot. You really never know what people are capable of.”
Condren and Garner plan to file a civil suit.
Coonrod is married to the assistant city attorney of Dallas, Michelanie “Mickey” Rayford-Coonrod.
