The Dallas bar had been closed since November and welcomed back visitors starting March 10, just in time for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

“We know we’ve been the biggest tease, but it sure is nice to be desired,” owner Jason Boso says in a news release.

You’ve already heard about the newly repainted Tango Frogs, courtesy of artist Ken Robison, which were placed atop the bar last month. The dancing statues have a long history in Lower Greenville, making their debut in the 1980s at the Tango nightclub.

But there were several other improvements made to the bar, adding up to a $2 million renovation, according to a news release. Those include a more functional layout, making the bar weather-friendly and creating more efficient customer touchpoints. There are more covered patios and four fire pits. There’s a larger bar and back-of-house kitchen, plus a paved driveway for food trucks and upgraded bathrooms.

There’s new furniture, a new mural and a covered private event space, and the menu features new cocktails.

Customers will also be able to order drinks from their phone to be delivered to their table.

Truck Yard will celebrate 10 years in business on Sears Street this fall.
