Here are the ones to look forward to this year.

La Neta Cocina y Lounge

La Neta Cocina y Lounge will open March 2023 at The Epic in Deep Ellum.

The first location for this Mexican restaurant is in Las Vegas, but the menu at the Deep Ellum location will be localized with Texas-inspired additions.

Komodo

This Pan-Asian restaurant will open its first Texas location at The Epic mixed-use development in Deep Ellum.

2550 Pacific Ave.

Plomo Quesadillas

This restaurant specializes in quesadillas, but owner Omar Kasim says he wants to develop the cocktail and alcoholic beverage offerings.

Ascension Coffee

Bill Schaffler, the president of this coffee shop chain, told the Advocate in August that the coffee shop would open its East Dallas location January 2023. We will continue to provide updates as we receive them.

9353 Garland Road

Petra and the Beast 

The restaurant from chef Misti Norris is moving from its spot on N. Haskell Avenue to Lakewood Shopping Center.

Fortune House

The Chinese restaurant announced on its Instagram in late November that the Lowest Greenville location, the second for Fortune House, is coming soon. We’ll share an opening date when we have it.

Ellen’s

News of a Casa Linda location for this all-day brunch place was reported in 2021. We know a certificate of occupancy was approved for the restaurant, but since then, we haven’t received any updates on an opening date. We’re still trying to find out more.

Birdie’s Eastside

TJ’s Seafood owner Jon Alexis told the Advocate in August that he’s planning to open his newest concept, slated for the old Luby’s on E. Mockingbird Lane, this fall.
