The ice cream store is currently at the intersection of Ross Avenue and Greenville Avenue but will take the old Creamistry space at 1929 Greenville Ave.

Creamistry, which made ice cream using liquid nitrogen, has been closed since at least February; it opened on Greenville in 2018. The company never responded to our request for more information about the reason for or date of the store’s closure.

But the space won’t sit empty long; Milk & Cream expects to open at 1929 Greenville Ave. this fall, the company said.

Specializing in ice cream sandwiches made with doughnut-like buns, Milk & Cream has been on Ross Avenue since 2016. The shop serves ice cream in cones and cups, too, and offers a variety of toppings, including cereals.

Even though the relocation equates to one ice cream shop replacing another, there’s still a lot of sugar in Lowest Greenville. The new Milk & Cream will be just steps from Joy Macarons, Jeni’s Ice Creams and Botolino Gelato Artigianale.

Jeni’s Ice Creams is relatively new to Lower Greenville, having opened last fall. The company, which started in Ohio in 2002, had a location in Deep Ellum before the Greenville shop opened.

Botolino came to Lowest Greenville in 2017. It was founded by Carlo Gattini, whose father founded MoMo Italian Kitchen. Gattini has since expanded Botolino to Preston Hollow and plans to open a shop in the Bishop Arts District.
