There’s a new mural on the side of Botolino Gelato Artigianale in Lowest Greenville.

It was painted by Ron and Casey Sullivan and is visible from the alley between the gelato shop and the 7-Eleven.

The mural depicts whimsical people in different outfits, doing different activities, but all enjoying gelato. And it looks like the founder of the shop, Carlo Gattini, is even displayed prominently in the center of the artwork.

It’s much more colorful than what was previously there. The wall was covered with black paint, except for the words “gelato” and “parking” and a picture of a cone with a few scoops of gelato. Check it out in the photo at the bottom of the story.

Botolino opened in our neighborhood in 2017 and has since expanded to the Preston-Royal area.

This year, it was ranked the No. 12 best restaurant in Texas, according to Yelp. Other East Dallas eateries also included in that list are Mami Coco (located near Samuell-Grand and in Old East Dallas) and LDU Coffee (locations on Fitzhugh and Garland).

If you’re spending time in the Lower Greenville area this month, keep in mind that the Lowest Greenville fall festival is Oct. 29. Details about that event and others are available here.
