The restaurant has been open as a private event space for a few months, said Tricia Sereno, the senior manager of commercial marketing for The Village.

“The future for La Mina is bright, and we are excited to announce the next evolution soon,” Sereno said.

Sereno did not immediately respond to a request for information about why the restaurant closed, but this story will be updated when we receive a response.

La Mina opened in 2021 in the lower level of the Drey Hotel at The Village.

Tony Ibarra, formerly of Petra and the Beast, created La Mina’s menu, including authentic Mexican dishes.

It was one of several food and beverage concepts The Village added in the recent renovation project. Brazilian restaurant Meridian, headed by chef Junior Borges, has received national recognition; this year, Borges was a semifinalist for the James Beard Awards in the outstanding chef category.

And Anise, located in the Drey, serves Mediterranean dishes and features a wine and cocktail list.
