Old Lake Highlands resident Dr. Judith (Judy) Kumar is the last candidate to file in the race for Dallas City Council District 9. The May 1 election is now set as a three way contest with Kumar, incumbent Paula Blackmon and challenger John Botefuhr.
Kumar’s LinkedIn profile says she is a Senior Project Manager with National General Insurance. Previous positions have centered on technical writing and research. She graduated from Sidwell Friends High School (where the Clintons and the Obamas sent their kids), received an undergraduate degree from University of Virginia and a Masters and PhD from Harvard.  Looks like ACC and Ivy League versus the Big 12 as Blackmon is a Red Raider and Botefuhr is a Sooner.
Kumar named Diane Benjamin as her campaign treasurer and recently developed a website for her candidacy.
