At 4 p.m., Hudson House closed six hours earlier than usual, due to a gas leak inside the premises. The restaurant remained closed until noon on Sunday, March 3, reopening two hours later than usual, general manager Brandon Lemke told the Advocate.

“We always make the decisions to prioritize the safety of our community and our team. So we made the decision to close while investigating the issue,” Lemke said. “We did have plumbers come out [and] repair the issue … these things happen, we are always paying attention to any of those safety signals and we will always make decisions to prioritize the health and safety of our team and our guests.”

While the exact cause of the gas leak was not confirmed, Lemke suggested that it could be attributed to wear and tear of the old and busy building, this marks the first gas leak at the restaurant.
