This fall will see a new Ramen shop come to East Dallas. Agu Ramen, a Hawaiian chain with multiple locations in Houston, will open its first two Dallas restaurants, which oddly both sit in our neighborhood. On Oct. 1, the Mockingbird Station location will open, with another to follow in Lakewood Square on Gaston Avenue. In addition to the traditional broth-based soups, Agu has vegetarian options and spicy fries on the menu.

What used to be Sunset Lounge at 3030 Ross Ave. will soon be The Pretty Diver. Promoter Matt Jones told CultureMap that it will be “Dallas’ first neighborhood glam dive bar. It’s a cliché, I guess, but we’re talking about champagne on a beer budget.”

Ross Avenue has seen its fair share of development recently, from the short-lived Little Woodrow’s, to Republic Ranch, a Texas-themed bar and restaurant from Woodrow Wilson graduate and State Fair deep-fried champion Abel Gonzales.
