Although the powers that be painted over most of the purple tacos (or are they tortas?), another East Dallas street artist is keeping our neighborhood in a festive mood.
Last fall, two abandoned East Dallas pay phones were adorned with plastic flowers. Roses decorated an old phone at a gas station at Skillman and Live Oak, while sunflowers brightened up a closed business next to Strangeways on Fitzhugh.
In what looks like a nod to Valentines Day, the artist transformed the Skillman and Live Oak installation into a bed of pink and white gerber daisies forming a heart in the center. Take a look and take a chance at love this winter.
The employee at the station says he thinks the artist is a customer, but he is unaware of his name. The artist remains anonymous and at large.
