Jason’s Deli became aware of the breach on Dec. 22, immediately alerted authorities and activated a “leading threat response team.” Malware began pulling data from the point of sale machines at the sandwich shops beginning June 8, 2017, but the response team disabled the malware at the Jason’s Deli locations soon after. The deli on East Mockingbird Lane is one of the locations included in the breach.

The press release states that the malware may have accessed the cardholder name, credit or debit card number, expiration date, cardholder verification value and service code for the impacted accounts. But neither the three- or four-digit verification code nor the personal identification numbers were part of the hack.

Jason’s Deli recommends that you review the list of compromised locations and check your accounts for unauthorized purchases if you were a customer at one of the locations. For more information, neighbors should contact their credit or debit card companies or Jason’s Deli at customer.service@jasonsdeli.com and 409-838-1976.
