If transportation woes are the thing keeping you from the polls this election weekend, DART is the solution.
Dallas Area Rapid Transit is providing free rides to polling locations May 6, Saturday, the date City of Dallas residents will elect City Council members and, presumably, reelection unopposed incumbent mayor Eric Johnson.
“Voters can ride at no charge on all DART buses, trains, GoLink, the Dallas Streetcar, Paratransit Services and the TRE between EBJ Union Station and CentrePort/DFW Airport Station,” DART announced.

Now that that’s covered, if you live in D10, don’t let anything silence your opinion about our neighborhood’s representation for the next two years. East Dallas residents began early voting last week.
On Election Day, May 6, voters are required to cast their ballots at their assigned polling place. This is a change from early voting, where registered voters are able to go to any Dallas County voting location.

District 9 and District 14 are in East Dallas and District 2 involves Deep Ellum and surrounding. The City of Dallas underwent a redistricting process last year, so check yours on this map.
Paula Blackmon is running for reelection in District 9, facing off against Kendra Madison. In District 14, incumbent Paul Ridley is challenged by Amanda Schulz and Joseph Miller.
