Smackbird, a ghost kitchen concept that rolled out to increase sales during the height of the pandemic in November 2020, is opening at a few more Cowboy Chicken locations. The only dining options are online orders for delivery and pick up.

Menu offerings include hot tenders and sandwiches, mac ‘n cheese, coleslaw, potato wedges, desserts and family meal packs.

There are already Smackbird ghost kitchens at the Cowboy Chicken location on Greenville Avenue, which is the chain’s second oldest location, and Fort Worth. Two more Smackbird locations in Texas are anticipated later this month.

“Adding Smackbird allowed us to take advantage of the extra kitchen capacity that COVID-19 caused, increase sales and keep our staff at select stores fully employed during a challenging time,” Sean Kennedy, president of Cowboy Chicken, said in a press release.

Neighbors can choose from six heat levels for their sandwich, including: no smack, little smack, the good smack, hot smack, hard smack and hell smack.
