Neighborhood organizations The Magdalen House and New Friends New Life will benefit from the upcoming Chi Omega Christmas Market. The 48th annual Chi Omega Christmas Market will take place Sept. 24-27 at Dallas Market Hall, located at 2200 Stemmons Freeway, according to a press release from Chi Omega.
“Each year Chi Omega Christmas Market supports a diverse array of nonprofit organizations that represent some of the most critical needs in the Dallas community, as well as collegiate scholarships,” 2024-25 Beneficiary Chairperson Emily Thorsen Blair said in the press release. “We are so grateful to our community, shoppers, patrons and sponsors who support the market and allow us to donate essential funds each year to these deserving beneficiaries.”
Both The Magdalen House and New Friends New Life aim to provide support to vulnerable populations — people recovering from alcoholism and victims of human trafficking, respectively.
The Magdalen House was founded in Dallas in 1987 and offers spiritually-based comprehensive alcoholism recovery service to men and women for free, according to the nonprofit’s website.
New Friends New Life started in 1997 and provides services to trafficked and sexually exploited women, teenage girls and their children including case management, counseling, economic empowerment and educational support, according to the organization’s website.
Other organizations benefiting are Beacon Hill Preparatory Institute, Broadway Dallas, Community Partners of Dallas, Connecting Point of Park Cities, Make-A-Wish North Texas, Sleep in Heavenly Peace TX-Dallas/Fort Worth and the Texas Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Over the course of its history, Chi Omega Christmas Market has donated more than $11 million to over 154 Dallas-area beneficiaries, according to the press release. This year’s market in September will start with a preview party 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and first call shopping 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday. General admission shopping will take place from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. For more information, visit www.chiomegachristmasmarket.org.
