There’s a new Mami Coco in East Dallas.

Owner Gustavo De Los Rios celebrated the opening of the second location, at the Samuell-Grand intersection, with neighbors and District 2 City Council member Jesse Moreno.

“I’m very, very happy,” De Los Rios says. “I’m excited.”

The first location is on Bryan Street. It started with a menu offering flautas, burritos, quesadillas and enchiladas, and within months after opening, De Los Rios decided to start selling tacos, hearing so much interest in the food item from customers.

Mami Coco’s second spot is similar to the original, but it has a few more tables inside. The menu is about the same, but De Los Rios is offering alcoholic drinks, too. It’s located right next to Mixtitos Kitchen, which opened in late July, at 2706 Samuell Blvd.

“This part of East Dallas is truly now becoming a food hub, and I’m really excited to have options not only for myself, but for the residents that live around here,” Moreno says.

The restaurant is offering free tacos and micheladas to customers 6-9 p.m. Aug. 26 as part of its grand opening celebration.
