Goodrich was a two-time All-American receiver for the Wildcats who went on to letter in track and basketball.

Although he was offered scholarships from schools around the country, Goodrich chose to stay home and play for Southern Methodist University. He played on the 1966 team that won the Southwest Conference.

Goodrich, who graduated from Woodrow in 1963, will be among the 2020 Dallas ISD Athletic Hall of Fame inductees this May.

After college, Goodrich went into TV production, just like his father, a Methodist minister who produced the weekly show “The Pastor Calls.” Goodrich joined ABC and produced the network’s Monday Night Football shows, as well as its first Super Bowl.

The 16-time Emmy winner also served as producer for the Indianapolis 500 and several Olympic games.
