Seven trees were scheduled to be removed from the Big Thicket area near White Rock Lake.
The trees were identified because they have “significant rotting wood” and would likely drop larger limbs.
According to urban biologists, “while the trees in question certainly provide a wildlife benefit, the current condition of the trees present a safety issue to the general public.”
For The Love of The Lake and Celebration Tree Grove are sponsoring a tree planting this spring, planning to plant up to 50 trees in the area.
