Woodrow Wilson graduate Drew Wiles claimed the men’s half marathon title Sunday at the BMW Dallas Marathon.
His unofficial time was 1:09:02. It was a personal best for the 20-year-old, who was running in his third race with the Dallas Marathon.

As he crossed the finish line, Wiles did his best impersonation of Logan Sherman, a local running hero who won the full marathon in 2015.
“I was inspired to run the Dallas Marathon after watching Logan Sherman win the full,” Wiles said. “I chose my athletic wear based on what he wore that year for good luck.”
Wiles graduated in 2017 from Woodrow, where he played snare in the band’s drumline.
