There’s an interesting story in today’s Morning News about a mayoral forum and the candidates being asked hypothetical questions. One of them: Would you support renaming Fair Park "Yahoo! Fair Park" in exchange for $5 million annually in cash and marketing support from the internet giant? Darrell Jordan took that question and, according to the story, said: "I’d have no problem rejecting that proposal. That’s not a good use of the city’s resources." But the question does raise an interesting point now that the only big attraction at Fair Park (other than the museums) is going to be the State Fair. $5 million doesn’t seem like enough, but how much would be enough to rechristen Fair Park and generate additional money to help promote it?
