One of the major topics of discussion at a meeting this week of the Texas Conservation Alliance (formerly the Texas Committee on Natural Resources) was the Trinity River toll road petition drive. I’m told there were a bunch of petitions on hand, and that they  were being signed.

Perhaps more importantly was the pronouncement from Dallas attorney Ned Fritz, who is the patriarch of the environmental movement in Texas: No Trinity toll road. Only in Texas, Fritz told the group, would someone build a highway on a levee.
