I noticed a soil-boring team on the Minyards parking lot yesterday, presumably poking some soil-test holes for the Whole Foods people (who just bought their major competitor, Wild Oats, today by the way). Anyway, soil tests are usually a precursor to site engineering and architectural work. One thing I thought was interesting: The soil bores were being taken on the parking lot near the western-most entrances on Gaston and Abrams. It made me wonder if Whole Foods is planning to reconfigure the store on the lot or just punching some holes while considering shoring up the driveways?
