A ceremony for the recipients of this year’s Woodrow Wilson High School Community Foundation scholarship program will take place at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 6 at Lakewood Country Club.

A group of 29 Woodrow Wilson High School seniors will receive a total of $56,500 in scholarships, according to an email from the foundation. 

“This year saw impressive engagement with applications increasing by 9%, representing nearly one quarter of the graduating class,”  the foundation’s email reads. “We are proud to announce that with this year’s awards, the Foundation has achieved a significant milestone, having now provided over $550,000 in scholarship funding to deserving students since the program’s inception in 2011.”

Last year, the foundation awarded $53,000 to 28 seniors. Over 300 students have received these scholarships over the years. 

The scholarship winners are:

  • Vivian Chauza – Woodrow Wilson Class of 1991 Scholarship
  • Cassidy Desler – Woodrow Wilson Class of 1968 Scholarship
  • Porter DeLuca – Alise Cortez Scholarship
  • Cynthia Galvan – Texas Women’s University Dallas Presidential Scholarship
  • Harper Gibbs – Class of 1978 Hal Hammond Memorial Scholarship
  • Natali Hall – Richard H. Vitale Family Scholarship
  • Troy Harper – YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas Scholarship
  • Brisa Jofre – Gustavo Ipiña Memorial Scholarship
  • Breanna Johnston – Deshawn Jagwan Athletic Scholarship
  • Natalene Lopez – Woodrow Wilson High School Robotics Scholarship
  • Aidan McSpadden – The Trammell Crow Scholarship
  • Sienna Montalvo – Class of 1971 Dennis Roe Memorial Scholarship
  • Marisol Moncada – The Ryan Hardy Memorial Band Scholarship
  • Leah Mosley – Nicolas M. Vitale Athletic Scholarship
  • Ava Nichols – Tess P. White Foundation Scholarship
  • Hector Orta – Richmond Family Scholarship & Sicilia “Sici” Williams Memorial Scholarship
  • Quinn Page – Marca Lee Bircher Vocal/Music Theater Scholarship
  • Aarav Patel – Friends of Lakewood Scholarship
  • Isabella Pell – Spirit of Woodrow Scholarship
  • Ana Perea Mariscal – Barchman Family Scholarship
  • Camille Rigamonti – Charlotte and Joseph W. Geary, Jr. Memorial Scholarship
  • Audrey Sloan – Bob and Mary Jo English Scholarship
  • Katherine Smit – Veritex Community Leadership College Scholarship
  • Hannah Sublett – Richmond Family Scholarship & Mary Ruth Patterson Memorial Scholarship
  • Marley Sweckard – Marian Dieckman Hammert Scholarship
  • Valerie Torres – Mrs. P’s Sweetheart Scholarship
  • Mia Yonker – Bank of America Leadership Scholarship

“Each scholarship seeks to award a specific type of student – defined by excellence in specific high school endeavors, character, community service, leadership, and future academic and professional aspirations,” the foundation’s email reads. 

The foundation’s email thanked members of the scholarship advisory committee while also nodding to the community partners that support the program.

“The Woodrow Wilson High School Community Foundation remains committed to supporting excellent education throughout the Woodrow feeder pattern schools,” the email reads. “As we honor our 2025 scholarship recipients’ achievements, we welcome your continued partnership and support which helps ensure future generations of Woodrow students will have access to transformative educational opportunities.”
