David Juan, who’s attending the University of Texas at Arlington next fall, received the inaugural Live Terrific Scholarship from Tommy Terrific’s Carwash located on Ross. The scholarship is for $5,000.

Juan plans to study architecture, something he found a passion for after his experience with the 2015 Mouser’s Intern Fellows Program where he worked with a civil engineering and architecture firm.

“Architecture is a great major because I can work to make my community a better place,” Juan said. “I want to build affordable homes for those who are not as fortunate.”

Earlier this week Kim Miller, co-owner of the car wash, met Juan at Woodrow Wilson’s awards ceremony luncheon and presented the scholarship.

“It was such a joy to meet our first scholarship recipient and extend our well wishes to David as he begins his college career,” Miller said.

Juan earned the scholarship after answering the essay prompt, “How are you terrific in your community?”
