With the Woodrow Wilson High School varsity football suffering its first loss at the hands of Hillcrest Friday night, it’s the right time for homecoming this week. The annual parade begins near the school at 6 p.m. Wednesday, and it snakes along Glasgow to Gaston and then returns on Paulus for a giant pep rally and tailgate. Woodrow’s website has all of the pertinent maps, links and information. (If you want to take a brief trip back to your high school days, click on the “Homecoming Week Guidelines” link and notice how the “don’ts” for the week outnumber the “do’s”.) The football team plays Conrad High School at Hillcrest’s Franklin Field Friday, Oct. 1, at 7:30 p.m. The team is 4-1 after Friday’s loss.
