White Rock Rowing returns home from its third regatta of the 2023 season, the Head of the Colorado, winning several gold medals in highly competitive boat races.
On Sunday, Oct. 29, the Head of the Colorado regatta, held at Lady Bird Lake in Austin, Texas, hosted junior, collegiate, adaptive, inclusive and masters rowers from around the central region. White Rock Rowing entered 29 boats, winning medals for 11 of them.
“It is always special to see White Rock athletes competing, but to see our youth rowers and our master rowers achieve medals was such an exciting experience! It’s not often our youth and adults get to compete at the same regatta. And I think it’s a testament to the growing popularity of rowing in Dallas – it’s truly for everyone!” Sue Ellen Chambers, board chair of White Rock Boathouse, Inc. said.
