Anyone notice the story in the Morning News today about plans to rebuilt the spillway and spiff it up quite a bit? The drawing looks like the spillway is going "uptown" with a viewing area, all kinds of new landscaping and even a bigger area for "visitors". But as usual, funding seems to be a problem. The whole spillway area is ripe for development. In fact, I contacted one of the nearby landowners and tried to buy a small parcel for us to build an office, but the owner just laughed me off (in a nice way); he said he was holding out for a high-rise developer to buy the site since that type of buyer would pay a lot more than we could.
