The annual home tour originally started as a small group of parents from Hexter Elementary interested in architecture looking to showcase Mid-Century and Modern homes within the White Rock neighborhood.

Kelli McCarthy, Media Sponsor Committee member says there’s something unique about touring the inside of the homes as a part of the tour. Once people get to see inside the homes and the interior design of historic homes from the ’50s and ’60s, they get a deeper appreciation for the people and the community behind the home tour.

Right now six homes have been carefully selected as a part of the event, each varying in style, architecture, floor plans and outdoor space to pique the interest of different audiences.

It’s not merely just homes, but a way to fundraise for Hexter Elementary through donations and ticket purchases – making it their largest fundraiser of the year. All proceeds directly go towards helping fund field trips and educational resources

It takes roughly 300 volunteers to help during the weekend of the home tour, so there are plenty of ways to get involved behind the scenes just email whiterockhometour@gmail.com to become a volunteer.

Tickets will be available for purchase soon and can be accessed through the organization’s website.
