“Hansel and Gretel”
“Hansel and Gretel” is wrapping up this weekend, on April 3. You know the story. An elderly woman living in a house made of candy captures a brother and sister and attempts to fatten them up. This time its told by puppets and accompanied by the music of Engelbert Humperdinck. Most appropriate for kids 4 and up. Dallas Children’s Theater is at 5938 Skillman. This weekend, East Dallas neighbor Allen Falkner, who is known for his tattoo removal, is hosting a pop-up tattoo artist gallery from April 1-3, in which he “seeks to celebrate tattoo art rather than shame it.” From 11 a.m.-8 p.m. daily, local artists’ work will be on display at Fade Fast, which is located in Deep Ellum at 2928 Main Street, Suite 100.
The Dallas Arboretum’s biggest floral festival, Dallas Blooms, is here until April 10. Every year the garden explodes with color as more than 500,000 spring-blossoming bulbs burst, and life-size bronze sculptures of American’s “great contributors.” The Dallas Arboretum is at 8525 Garland Road.
