Screen Shot 2014-09-29 at 4.38.24 AMThe Ferguson Road Initiative (FRI) announced it is moving forward with its plans to design the first regional or multi-generational recreation center in the City of Dallas, according to founder Vikki Martin.
The Ferguson Road Initiative is a grassroots organization, which started in 1998 with the mission “to transform far East Dallas into a safe, beautiful, prosperous and proud community,” particularly through economic revitalization.
For those interesting in learning more, tomorrow, Sept. 30, the initiative will host the launch of The White Rock Hills Recreation Center Feasibility Study and Master Plan at the Dallas Arboretum in Rosine Hall from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The meeting will include an introduction of the teams leading the study: Dallas Parks and Recreation, Ferguson Road Initiative and Jacobs Engineering Group.
We plan to attend the meeting to provide more information about the center. To learn more about The Ferguson Road Initiative, visit the website.
The next community meetings — Nov. 3 and Jan. 27 — will include workshop formats. They will also take place at the Dallas Arboretum from 6-9 p.m.
