The search is over for Buzzbrews Kitchen. They’ve finally found the right fit for a new restaurant in the old Mecca location in the Skillman-Live Oak Shopping Center.

Back in March, we heard East Dallas-based BuzzBrews Kitchen was “scouting possibilities” for a new, additional location in East Dallas. At the time, spokeswoman Megan Estep confirmed they would “definitely be adding a new BuzzBrews in the East Dallas area.”

In April, The Mecca Restaurant closed its doors to search of a better location.

Then in July, Estep said Buzzbrews were “still actively looking” for the right fit. She likened Buzzbrews’ situation to the dating scene and explained that they just hadn’t found ‘the one.’

A couple weeks ago, we started hearing rumors that Buzzbrews was checking out the old Mecca location at Skillman and Live Oak in Lakewood. Estep confirmed that they were indeed scouting it out and explained that, if they snatched it up, they would “completely transform the space.”

On Friday, Estep confirmed that Buzzbrews signed a lease.

“We shall open early 2015 in the old Mecca space at 5815 Live Oak St.,” she says. “Renovations should begin next week.”
