East Dallas nonprofits dedicated to supporting women, girls and families received grants from the Texas Women’s Foundation’s annual Community Grants Cycle this year.
On the list of recipients were Dallas Leadership Foundation (collaborates with local leaders to achieve change), Interfaith Family Services (aids families in poverty), Junior Players (provides arts education to children in underserved communities) and Nexus Family Recovery Center (substance use treatment for women and therapy services to their children). After8toeducate, a nonprofit based near Fair Park that serves unhoused youths, also received a grant.
In total, Texas Women’s Foundation gave $822,160 to 23 nonprofits across North Texas this year, and the foundation has distributed more than $87.5 million in grants since 1985, according to a press release. The recipients were honored at a reception late last month.
“These incredible nonprofit organizations are transforming public education, providing critical healthcare access and helping fill the increasing gap in basic needs such as food and housing,” Texas Women’s Foundation President and CEO Karen Hughes White said in the press release. “We are so thankful to our donors and philanthropic partners who make this support possible, allowing TXWF to remove barriers to women’s economic security, stability and success as we work to build a strong and vibrant Texas for all.”
