Kettle Art Gallery in Deep Ellum is celebrating the art movement Impressionism in its next exhibition.
“Dual Impressions — A Shared Light” opens 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18 and features the work of North Texas painters Mahsa Moein and Beverly Parson White.
Impressionism was the art style of the latter half of the 1800s that utilized certain brush strokes, light, color and depictions of what was contemporary life. Think: Monet, Renoir and Degas.
Moein and White put their own spin on Impressionism, and neither of them are strangers to Kettle Art. Moein has exhibited at Kettle Art since 2018, and White joined up with the gallery in 2023, according to a press release.

“Mahsa’s landscapes and still lifes have seen a recent surge in popularity, particularly following her inclusion in the 32nd Craighead Green – New Texas Talent exhibition, curated by Ben Lima,” reads the press release. “In contrast, Beverly brings a fresh perspective to the gallery, with her evocative street scenes rendered in a bold interplay of shadow and light. Together, their work celebrates both the enduring appeal of Impressionism and the vibrant creativity of local talent. This exhibition is, in many ways, our response to a simple truth: people love Impressionism, and we’re proud to showcase artists who keep that spirit alive.”
