If you haven’t seen the Ottoman Turks live, August 24th will be your best chance yet. TURKATHON is a one-day festival celebrating 15 years of the band. It will be held at the Granada Theater at 7 p.m. with general admission tickets for just $15.

Of course the Turks are the headliner, but you’ll be seeing bits of them in the opening acts too. Bassist Billy Law will be performing his solo work with his band, The Baby Boys. Lead singer Nathan Mongol Wells will also perform songs from his debut solo record, From A Dark Corner, before the two team up with drummer Paul Hinojo for the main event. Country singer Ten Gallon will also perform a set, plus an advertised “big big secret guest,” which is rumored to be former Turks guitarist Joshua Ray Walker.

Local art is a tough business, and booking a massive one-day festival based entirely around one band’s discography is even tougher. The Ottoman Turks are making a big gamble, let’s make sure it pays off. General admission and seated tickets are available via PreKindle. See you there?
