Six educators from schools in our neighborhood have won the Greater East Dallas Chamber of Commerce’s 2025 Teacher of the Year awards.
These teachers are Chad Burrus of Solar Preparatory School for Girls, Shatavia Reeves of W. H. Gaston Middle School, Daniel Forsythe of Bryan Adams High School Leadership Academy, Laura Gigliotti of Lakehill Preparatory School, Nikki Morris of Dallas Academy and Cristi McCarty of Lakehill Preparatory School.
Each of the winners are expected to receive $250 and a plaque, according to an email from the chamber. The schools that employ these teachers will also get $250 each.
A cocktail reception to celebrate the winners is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 14 at Lakewood Country Club, sponsored by Dallas Coffee News/past winner Adam Jochelson. Tickets for the reception cost $40 for chamber members, $45 for guests and $320 for a table of eight.
