The Whippersnapper at North Henderson Avenue and McMillan Avenue is closing May 3.
Also called The Whip, the neighborhood bar opened in 2016 — nine years and three months ago to be exact.

“Thank you for the memories. Thank you to our regulars for your unwavering support. Thank you to our past and present team members for your hard work and dedication. Thank you for being a part of the Whippersnapper family,” Phil Schanbaum said on The Whip’s Facebook and Instagram accounts on April 22. He is the co-founder of This & That Hospitality, which is behind The Whippersnapper.
Locals can say goodbye to our neighborhood bar by attending The Whippersnapper’s final parties on April 25-26 and May 2-3.
Despite closing, the bar’s social media posts hint that something new is coming up by telling patrons, “Stay tuned for what’s next,” and that, “It’s not goodbye — it’s a see-you-soon.”
