Sfuzzi, a purveyor of pasta, pizza and wine, closed in February at 2401 N. Henderson Ave. Sfuzzi originally opened in 1987, and it was revived in 2009 and 2022.

Hendy’s, named for the street it will be located on, will be an American restaurant with a menu designed by Dallas chef Peja Krstic, according to The Dallas Morning News. Krstic owns Mot Hai Ba off Live Oak Street and Pillar in the Bishop Arts District, and he was the executive chef at The Standard Pour in Uptown.

Phil Schanbaum and Brandon Hays opened Sfuzzi and are also behind Hendy’s. In addition, they have opened multiple other restaurants through their company This & That Hospitality.

Hays and Schanbaum are also reportedly partnering with Burger Schmurger owner Dave Culwell to open a Burger Schmurger restaurant at 718 N. Buckner Blvd., east of White Rock Lake, according to The Dallas Morning News. Burger Schmurger currently is a pop-up restaurant at High Fives, one of Schanbaum and Hays’ projects, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday, according to its Instagram page. The burger joint also appears at other places and events.
