A neighborhood musician is offering a $5,000 reward for the return of her stolen viola, according to a piece in today’s Dallas Morning News. The instrument means the world to Claire Garza, a musician who plays for the Richardson Symphony Orchestra and the Texas Winds Musical Outreach, among other endeavors, so she contacted the North Texas Crime Commission to get permission to offer the $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the crook who took the beloved, income-producing instrument from her Swiss Ave. apartment.

She has also arranged two locations at which the viola may be returned anonymously, including Fire Station 17 on Skillman-Belmont in Lakewood, and St. Thomas Aquinas Church on Abrams-Kenwood during normal business hours. If you have any information about Garza’s viola, call Crimestoppers at 214-373-8477.
