Former football player Tim Brown, who graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and then went on to play for the University of Notre Dame and win a Heisman Trophy in 1987 before becoming one of the greatest wide receivers in the National Football League, is going to be in the neighborhood this Friday.

He was formally inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame back in August, and now he’s being honored at Woodrow by The Pro Football Hall of Fame and Ford.

There’s also a surprise that isn’t being printed yet because even Brown doesn’t know about it. (Look for more on that this Friday. Aren’t secrets fun?)

Brown ranked second at the time of his retirement with 14,934 receiving yards, and his 1,094 career catches was third best. The nine-time Pro Bowler was also noted for his role as a punt and kickoff returner that helped him total 19,682 combined net yards.

Brown is the first and only Dallas ISD graduate to go to the Hall of Fame. Dallas ISD football players are wearing the #81 on their helmets this week in honor of Brown.

He’ll be honored on Friday, Nov. 6 at 2 p.m.
