Wanting to order out this Thanksgiving? Book now. Pecan Lodge in Deep Ellum is now taking online orders for Thanksgiving. Choose from traditional smoked turkey, smoked ham with apricot-molasses glaze, spice crusted beef tenderloin, whole smoked brisket, racks of ribs, handmade smoked sausage links ($27-$179). Last day for ordering is Friday, Nov. 20 at noon. Orders must be picked up on Wednesday, Nov. 25 between 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at Pecan Lodge, which is located at 2702 Main Street in Deep Ellum. Deep Ellum Brew Co. is turning four, and it’s throwing a party on Nov. 11 from 3 p.m.-midnight. It’s totally free but an RSVP is required, so do that here. The Warden, Vandoliers, and other local taproom favorites will be rocking the place. There will be food trucks. (In other news, Deep Ellum Brew Co. also just announced it has begun distribution to West Texas.)

Good Local Markets is hosting its 7th annual Fall Pie Contest on Sunday, Nov. 15 from 12:30 p.m.- 2:30 p.m. at the Vickery Meadow Market, located at 5803 E. Northwest Highway in the Half Price Books Parking Lot. All pies are available for tasting by the public, who vote on winners. The entry fee is $10 per pie. Pie crusts and fillings must be homemade. To celebrate North Texas Beer Week this week from Nov. 6–15Lakewood Brewing Company is once again teaming up with Rahr & Sons Brewing Company of Fort Worth to create a new brew, dubbed “DFW: A Collaboration of Two Breweries.” This year’s version is a rum oak-aged cherry Baltic Porter with an ABV of 9.5 percent timed. It will be available on draft at area taps and will be sold at local retailers in 22 oz. bottles beginning this week.
