Dallas police say DNA of the man suspected of committing a Feb. 22 rape on Ferndale in the Lake Highlands area of the northeast patrol division does not match the DNA profile of the Feb. 22 attacker.

What does it mean? Up until today, we’ve been told that a “strong suspect” in the Feb. 22 attack, Fernando Munoz (who also committed sexual crimes in East Dallas) was locked up at the time of the other two Lake Highlands attacks. Now it appears that is not the case. One could deduce from this recent development that we are looking, possibly, at one man committing these crimes.

However, police have said that the descriptions in each of the cases are different. We will continue to post new information as we learn it. Below are posts from our Lake Highlands blog with background on the case.
