An incident called into 911 this afternoon drew a police presence to the Central Market on E. Lovers Lane.
The site DFW Scanner tweeted just after 3 p.m. that police were dispatched to “a possible active shooter.”
A public information officer for the Dallas Police Department shares the preliminary information in an email to the Advocate. Someone called 911 and said there was a shooting at the 5700 block of E. Lovers Lane; when officers arrived, they discovered that no shooting had occurred, the police spokesperson says.
Around 3:18 p.m., the grocery store cleared up the news in a tweet, saying “an unsubstantiated threat” was reported to 911.
An unsubstantiated threat at our Dallas Lovers Lane Central Market was called into 9-1-1. We greatly appreciate the quick action of Dallas Police Department, and we apologize for any disruption to our customers’ shopping experience.
