‘A Wrinkle in Time’ begins tomorrow, March 22. For the 50th anniversary of the sci-fi classic, Dallas Children’s Theater draws in audiences with its top-notch production of an extra-terrestrial adventure across space and time. Tietze shred this weekend! If you’ve got documents you need to dispose of, Friends of Tietze Park Foundation is hosting its sixth annual shred on March 23, to raise funds for Tietze Park. Bring your documents to the Skillman Church of Christ parking lot, at 3014 Skillman, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. This year, Iron Mountain, a global leader in information management, will handle the shredding. js New Wing Tree 1On Saturday, March 23, the leaders of Woodrow Wilson High School and other community members will host a dedication ceremony for the new arts and science wing at Woodrow, followed by an open house. There will be presentations and performances by various groups, and refreshments will be served. The ribbon cutting starts around noon and should last about 20 minutes. Afterwards, you can wander the halls until 3 p.m.

577288_10200572860514623_1446501505_nIf you’re up for venturing out of the neighborhood a bit, there’s a free country and blues concert downtown at the historic 508 Park Ave. building. The concert is from 3:40 p.m. until 7 p.m. The invite says to “pack a picnic for a FREE all-ages concert featuring Holland K. Smith, Hunter Hendrickson, Troy Cartwright and others in the community garden on the south side of historic 508 Park.”

As always, tonight is another concert with Mockingbird Station’s March of Music. Tonight at 7 p.m., the Ryan Hamilton of Smile Smile and Erik Chandler of Bowling for Soup are playing.

Also tonight at 7 p.m., Woodrow is hosting the second lecturer in its Dialog for Peace series. Dr. Rick Halperin, the director of the Southern Methodist University Human Rights Education Program and teacher of human rights courses, is going to speak in the Woodrow Wilson High School Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.
